Richard Russell has been named Senior Vice President of Government & Political Affairs at the National Mining Association. He is a key member of the executive leadership team with the responsibility for leading all government affairs efforts for the Association. Richard is an experienced Washington, D.C., executive who has worked in impactful positions both on and off Capitol Hill and within a Presidential administration. Most recently, he served as the Staff Director for the U.S. Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and, prior to that, as Staff Director on the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works.
